WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS/WHEN WILL MY PET'S SERVICE TAKE PLACE?
Regular business hours are Monday-Friday from 11am-5pm and all scheduled services will take place within a 2 hour time frame. Visits for older, younger and special needs pets will be considered a priority if a more specific time is requested. Multiple daily visits during a dog sit are aimed to take place within an hour time frame in order to keep the visits spaced throughout the day (however, a 2 hour time frame will still apply). Your pet's scheduled service may take place as early as the time frame begins or as late as it ends, and will not necessarily occur within the time frame.
*There is an additional $5 fee for any off hours visits, walks or concierge (anything before 11am or after 5pm weekdays) and for all scheduled weekend services. Regularly scheduled walks will only take place during the above listed regular business hours. The earliest morning visit (dog sitting only) is 9am and the latest night visit is 9pm (time frame is applicable).
IS THERE ANY WEATHER THAT WOULD PREVENT MY DOG FROM RECEIVING HIS/HER WALK OR OUTING?
Yes. Outings may be cancelled or shortened during wet weather (including rain, sleet, snow, excessive melting/muddy ground, etc) or during extreme temperatures (high or low, including wind chill). If your dog’s regularly scheduled outing is canceled, we will still provide a walk for him/her during inclement weather. Walks will only be cancelled if public schools are closed, and the roads are deemed unsafe to drive. If you do need to schedule a walk on a snow day, a $10 hazardous road conditions fee will apply. Walks will be shortened during any extreme weather including (but not limited to) heavy rain/storms, temperatures below freezing, and heat waves/high humidity.
DO I NEED TO PROVIDE ANYTHING?
Yes. You will need to provide a key and/or access code so that we can enter your home, a leash & collar or harness, towels for drying your dog (if applicable), as well as any treats, snacks, meals or medications that you would like your pet to have the day of your scheduled service. You are also required to provide the original hand written hard copies of the service contract (we cannot carry out any pet care services without the full contract in our possession).
WHAT ARE YOUR CANCELLATION & HOLIDAY POLICIES?
If you need to cancel or change the time of an outing, walk or visit, please do so before 9am the morning of your pet's scheduled service. If you do not cancel by this time, you are subject to a $20 charge for that day's service. If you do not cancel before the time frame of your pet's scheduled service, you will be charged in full for the scheduled service. As booking is limited, you are required to pay a 20% deposit to reserve your dog's spot for an hourly sit block. If you do not cancel within 48 hours (sooner if possible please) before your dog's sit block is scheduled to take place, the deposit will be retained. Full payment is applicable for any hourly sit block that has not been cancelled before 9am the day of the your pet's scheduled service. There is an additional $10 fee for all holiday walks, visits, outings & concierge, and an additional $20 fee for all holiday hourly sit blocks.
*While dates may vary, holidays include: Easter Sunday, Memorial Day/Weekend, The 4th of July/Weekend, Labor Day/Weekend, Thanksgiving (Th-Sun), Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING AN INDEPENDENT PET CARE PROVIDER VS A LARGER COMPANY?
Know your pet care provider. With larger companies, you may never have the opportunity to meet your dog walker and/or pet sitter. You have to put all of your trust into the company's owner and their ability to screen the person who will not only have full access to your home, but will also be caring for your furry child. Sometimes companies do not take this responsibility to heart, and employees' experience & dedication can often be questionable. Your walker and/or pet sitter may also frequently change as most dog walkers don't remain at a large company for very long. Even if you love the pet care provider you have been assigned through the company, they have likely signed a contract which states that they cannot continue to provide care for your pets once they leave the company. With an independent pet care provider, you will always know exactly who is in your home, who is caring for your pets, and you will have the assurance that your pet care provider will be around for years to come (10+ years & counting).
